My name is Gina Jones, and I'm an artist based in the beautiful Far North Queensland, Australia. I've always been passionate about art, but it wasn't until a few years ago that I decided to pursue it as a career.
At my studio, Gina Jones Creations, I offer custom family portrait paintings to families and mothers all over the world. But what makes my work unique is the fact that I use breastmilk as a medium in some of my pieces.
I know it might sound a little strange, but I believe that breastmilk has a lot of untapped potential when it comes to art. And so far, the reaction to my work has been overwhelmingly positive.
People seem to love the idea of artwork that's infused with a bit of their own family history. And I think that's because breastmilk is such a personal and intimate substance. It's a reminder that, no matter where we go in life, our families will always be with us.
So if you're looking for a unique and memorable way to commemorate your breastfeeding journey, be sure to check out my work. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Gina Jones Creations is known for the Breastmilk Portrait Painting, a unique artform and process developed by myself. This has gained much media attention over the years, appearing in many publications, radio, and tv interviews across Australia.
The standard method of using breastmilk preservation powders did not work with these types of paintings and left a gritty result, so instead of giving up, a new method was developed for preserving the breastmilk to allow it to be used in these paintings. As this is a world first, the process cannot be disclosed and is protected by patent.
To give my clients extra reassurance about the safety and longevity of these paintings, I ordered a test to be completed by Symbio Laboratories. The test results came back confirming that zero mould or yeast cultures were present on the breastmilk portrait paintings. The paintings also come with a 5 year warranty for extra piece of mind.
This unique breastfeeding art is not only beautiful but also provides a sense of security for many new mothers as they are able to keep a part of their child with them forever.
As an artist, I love to create pieces that evoke emotions in those who view them. My work often centres around themes of family, love and growth. Whether it's a painting of a mother breastfeeding, or a tender portrait of a mother and her child, my hope is to touch people's hearts with my art.
I use alcohol ink to create my paintings, which gives the finished product a dreamy, watercolor-like effect. My pieces are available in a range of sizes, so please do get in touch if you're interested in commissioning me for a bespoke piece of original wall art.
How does the portrait process work?
After I receive the photo I convert it in Photoshop to produce a vinyl stencil that gets applied to the synthetic paper.
I then paint over the stencil with your chosen inks and additives, then remove the stencil to reveal the white space.
If the breastmilk option has been selected then the treated breastmilk will be applied to the white space afterwards.
The painting is then sealed with several sealants and varnish.
